Every family is different. Some need daytime support with their newborn. Some are craving the overnight support. Some don't know what they need, they just know they need it.
Daytime support typically looks like 4 hours shifts during business hours. During daytime shifts, our specialists typically help wash bottles, do dishes, restock the nursery and changing stations around the house, tidy up a bit, prepare light meals and snacks for mom during the day, talk through questions and concerns regarding baby care, or even hands-on baby care coaching.
Overnight support typically looks like 8 hour shifts from about 10 pm - 6 am. During overnight shifts, our specialists typically help wash bottles, restock nursery supplies, do some baby laundry if needed, and most importantly, provide care for your baby all night while you sleep. For breastfeeding moms, we tend to the baby as they wake, bring baby to you to nurse, and then take over soothing and such once baby is happily fed. And that means you get to go right back to sleep.
Some families find themselves needing sibling support while mom is giving birth. We can help with that, too! Some families just want daytime support. Some families just want overnight support. Some want a mix. We work with every family to find the right fit. Sometimes the best fit might be outside of the home with our new virtual postpartum doula support. Other times families with multiples just need guidance from our Managing Multiples Expert. And some families just need some lactation counseling. Whatever you're seeking, we are here and happy to help.
Every family is different and Lake Country Newborns tailors care to your individual needs. Our eclectic staff of newborn care specialists, postpartum doulas and nurses allows flexibility in selecting the best fit for your family.
Sometimes this fit is skill based. Other times, when our schedule is filled to the brim, this fit is schedule based.
We contract with only the best postpartum professionals for the care of your newborn. Most of our contractors hold a degree from an accredited college or university, all have professional training, and some complete applicable additional postpartum training to meet our expectations of excellence. Furthermore, our Care Coordinator has implemented a rigorous screening process to hand-select contractors that includes:
-a face-to-face interview
-detailed resume
-three or more references, vetted through phone contact
-Social Security Validation/Address Trace
-County Criminal Record Check of previous 7 years
-National Sex Offender Registry Search
-USA Criminal Index
-US Federal Record Check
Once cleared by an interview and reference checks, specialists must provide proof of up-to-date First Aid/CPR Certification and postpartum liability coverage.
